WHAT IS THIS EVENT ABOUT?
“Whether you want to uncover the secrets of the universe, or you just want to pursue a career in the 21st century, basic computer programming is an essential skill to learn.”
- Stephen Hawking
Keeping this in mind DJ ACM undertakes the initiative of teaching the basics of programming to high school students every year during the computer science week. Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. DJ ACM’s HOC mainly targets 8th graders because they are in a crucial phase of their lives during which they decide which stream and subjects would suit them the best. The educational material is designed on the basis of the course syllabus of each and every school that is included in this program. Jamnabai Narsee School, Sir C.J High School and Pawar Public School are some of the participants in the ever-increasing roster of schools that DJ ACM includes in this highly rewarding program.
